Firebird is the database that actually stores your SQL Account data. If you're setting up a new PC, a server, or reinstalling, you'll need this before SQL Account will run.

Files are served directly from the publisher, so you always get the current release — nothing here is a re-hosted or outdated copy.
Read this before upgrading an existing system. Moving from Firebird 3.0 to 5.0 is not a simple overwrite — a standalone setup needs a backup and restore, and a network setup needs FB 3.0 uninstalled first, then FB 5.0 installed, then backup and restore. Third-party integrations with SQL should be tested by that vendor before you upgrade. If you have live data and you're unsure, call us first — getting this wrong can cost you a database.
Before you install
- New installs: standalone can use FB 5.0. For network setups, use FB 5.0 if you don't need external tools; otherwise stay on FB 3.0.
- SQL Account v874 and above supports both Firebird 3.0 and 5.0.
- Existing SQL external programs (XLS, MDB, text import, stock pick checker) still work — report any issues to support.
